Everton plot January move for 'excellent' Premier League man likened to Cristiano Ronaldo

Everton are reportedly plotting a move in the January transfer window for Manchester United star Dan James, according to Football Insider.

As per the news outlet, the Goodison Park faithful are keeping tabs on the situation of the Wales international for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team ahead of the window opening in the New Year.

The Merseyside club tried to sign James just last year but the Old Trafford faithful fought off all of their competition to secure his services from EFL Championship club Swansea City.

And now, a source from Carlo Ancelotti’s side has told the publication that he is on the radar of the Toffees again as they look to assess possible extra reinforcements with the window just around the corner.

The Blues are apparently likely to concentrate on who is available on loan in January after their rather big spending on the back of the summer transfer window, and James may well fit the bill given that he has only played in five games in all competitions for the Red Devils so far in the 2020/21 term (Transfermarkt).

Ryan Giggs full of praise for James

Indeed, one big admirer of James is the former Premier League legend now Wales national team boss Ryan Giggs, who described the 23 year-old as ‘excellent’ and even likened him to a younger version of Cristiano Ronaldo.

James could certainly add some pace and trickery on the wing for EFC, and with him seemingly being out of favour for Man United at this moment in time, a loan deal for the winger may well be possible in January, which provides a relatively low-risk option given that he can return to his club at the end of it.
