'I am convinced' - Everton outcast's father makes big claim about son's future at Toffees
The father of Moise Kean has made a rather big claim on the future of his son and whether it lies with the Goodison Park faithful.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Calcio In Pillole, Jean Kean said:
“What I want is for my son to return to play in Italy as soon as possible.
“Here he grew up, here he became what he is now and it is right for him to return to his country.
“I still remember when as a child I used to accompany him from Asti to Turin, going back and forth almost every day of the week by train.
“This summer when there were rumours of Moise’s return to Juventus, I was very happy and hoped he would return, but in the end they preferred another player.
“Even though I know it’s not over here, I am convinced that sooner or later we will see him again in our championship.”
Kean did well at Juventus
Indeed, Kean enjoyed a relatively impressive 2018/19 campaign while playing for Juventus, scoring seven goals in 17 matches over all competitions while still only a teenager for the Old Lady (Transfermarkt).
This prompted the Merseyside club to pay £24.75m to sign the Italy international off the back of such early promise, but it has not quite worked out for Kean at Goodison Park as of yet.
Premier League a step too far for Kean
The Premier League was arguably just a step too far for Kean, who only managed to find the back of the net twice and provided just two assists in 31 games in the top flight (Transfermarkt) before making his loan move to PSG in the summer transfer window.
Could Kean move back to Serie A?
Given his struggles in England, Kean may want to think about moving away from Goodison Park on a permanent deal.
Moving back to Serie A may well be an option for the 20-year old given his promise there before, and with the likes of Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison as options up front for the Toffees, maybe Kean is not needed at the Blues, so a permanent move to the Italian top flight in the future may suit all parties involved.
