Report: Everton not expected to sign 48-goal Aston Villa, Fulham, West Brom & West Ham target
Josh King is not expected to sign for Everton before the domestic window deadline shuts at 5pm this evening, according to the Liverpool Echo.
As per the outlet, the focus at the Merseyside club will be more on possible outgoings than potential incomings, and there are no plans to move for the Bournemouth forward today. This contradicts a report which stated that Carlo Ancelotti’s team were plotting a swoop for King as his asking price apparently dropped from £20m to £15m.
For the Norway international to get his move to the Premier League, it may now lie in the hands of Aston Villa, Fulham, West Brom or West Ham United, all of whom are reportedly interested in the player, as per Football Insider.
KING HAS EXCELLED IN THE PREMIER LEAGUE
Indeed, the 28-year old has excelled in the top flight before, having scored a rather impressive 48 goals and supplied a further 15 assists in 161 matches at that level (per Transfermarkt).
King may well have been able to provide decent cover for Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison up front for the Goodison Park outfit should one of them be injured or suspended for a sustained period of time.
TOO LATE FOR EVERTON TO PURSUE OTHER TARGETS?
Indeed, it may be too late now for Everton to potentially pursue other attacking transfer targets, with just a few hours remaining until the window officially closes for English clubs.
King would have arguably been a decent addition to the Toffees, but it now looks as if that deal will not happen. Nonetheless, the Blues only have a few hours to go if they would like to pursue any other targets.
Evertonians, would King have been a good signing? Comment below with your views!
